To assign roles to the function buttons, press and hold the [DISP/BACK] button until the menu below is displayed. Select buttons to choose their roles.
The options available include:
To disable the selected button, choose [NONE].
The roles played by the six function buttons can also be selected using [BUTTON/DIAL SETTING] > [FUNCTION (Fn) SETTING].
Viewing Function Button Options
You can also display options for any of the function buttons by pressing and holding the button (but note that in focus mode [M], pressing and holding function buttons will instead display MF assist options). The above does not apply to any button to which [FOCUS CHECK] is currently assigned.
[TTL-LOCK]
If [TTL-LOCK] is selected, you can press the control to lock flash output according to the option selected for [FLASH SETTING] > [TTL-LOCK MODE].
[MODELING FLASH]
If [MODELING FLASH] is selected when a compatible shoe-mounted flash unit is attached, you can press the control to test-fire the flash and check for shadows and the like (modeling flash).
