.Warning Messages and Displays
The following warnings appear in the display.

| i (red) | Low battery. Charge the battery or insert a fully-charged spare battery. |
| j (blinks red) | Battery exhausted. Charge the battery or insert a fully-charged spare battery. |
| k | Slow shutter speed. Pictures may be blurred; use the flash or a tripod. |
| s (displayed in red with red focus frame) | The camera cannot focus. Use focus lock to focus on another subject at the same distance, then recompose the picture. |
| Aperture or shutter speed displayed in red | The subject is too bright or too dark and the picture will be over- or under-exposed. Use the flash for additional lighting when taking photographs of poorly-lit subject. |

| NO CARD | No memory card inserted when COPY is selected in the playback menu. Insert a memory card. |
| CARD NOT INITIALIZED |
The memory card or internal memory is not formatted or the memory card was formatted in a computer or other device: Format the memory card or internal memory using the FORMAT option in the camera setup menu. The memory card contacts require cleaning: Clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. If the message is repeated, format the card. If the message persists, replace the card. Camera malfunction: Contact a Fujifilm dealer. |
| CARD ERROR |
The memory card is not formatted for use in the camera: Format the card. The memory card contacts require cleaning or the memory card is damaged: Clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. If the message is repeated, format the card. If the message persists, replace the card. Incompatible memory card: Use a compatible card. Camera malfunction: Contact a Fujifilm dealer. |
| PROTECTED CARD | The memory card is locked. Unlock the card. |
| BUSY | The memory card is incorrectly formatted. Use the camera to format the card. |
| b MEMORY FULL | The memory card or internal memory is full and pictures cannot be recorded or copied. Delete pictures or insert a memory card with more free space. |

| WRITE ERROR |
Memory card error or connection error: Reinsert the card or turn the camera off and then on again. If the message persists, contact a Fujifilm dealer. Not enough memory remaining to record additional pictures: Delete pictures or insert a memory card with more free space. The memory card or internal memory is not formatted: Format the memory card or internal memory. |
| TOO MANY FRAMES | A search has returned more than 5,000 results, or more than 999 frames were selected for deletion. Perform a different search or select fewer pictures. |
| FRAME NO. FULL | The camera has run out of frame numbers (current frame number is 999-9999). Format the memory card and select RENEW for FRAME NO.. Take a picture to reset frame numbering to 100-0001, then select CONTINUOUS for FRAME NO.. |
| READ ERROR |
The file is corrupt or was not created with the camera: The file cannot be viewed. The memory card contacts require cleaning: Clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. If the message is repeated, format the card. If the message persists, replace the card. Camera malfunction: Contact a Fujifilm dealer. |
| PROTECTED FRAME | An attempt was made to delete or rotate to a protected picture. Remove protection and try again. |
| b NO IMAGE | The source selected for COPY contains no images. Select a different source. |

| a CAN NOT CROP | a pictures cannot be cropped. |
| CAN NOT CROP | The picture is damaged or was not created with the camera. |
| DPOF FILE ERROR | Print orders can contain no more than 999 pictures. Copy any additional pictures you wish to print to another memory card and create a second print order. |
| P CANNOT EXECUTE | An attempt was made to create a resized copy at a size equal to or larger than the original. Choose a smaller size. |

| CAN NOT SET DPOF | The picture cannot be printed using DPOF. |
| F CAN NOT SET DPOF | Movies cannot be printed using DPOF. |

| F CANNOT EXECUTE | Red-eye removal cannot be applied to movies. |
| m CANNOT EXECUTE | Red-eye removal cannot be applied to pictures created with other devices. |
| COMMUNICATION ERROR | A connection error occurred while pictures were being printed or copied to a computer or other device. Confirm that the device is turned on and that the USB cable is connected. |
| Ensure the battery chamber cover is locked. | Check that the battery-chamber cover is latched. Note that the cover may already be latched; this message merely encourages you to check that the cover is secure before proceeding. |
| p | Turn the camera off and wait for it to cool. Mottling may increase in pictures taken when this warning is displayed. |
