The shooting menu is displayed when you press [MENU/OK] in shooting mode. Choose from tabs A, B, C, D, or E.
The options available vary with the shooting mode selected.
Choose whether touch controls can be used to select the focus area or release the shutter (a Shooting Touch Controls).
Choose whether touch controls can be used for digital zoom (a Touch Zoom).
Choose how focus is displayed in manual focus mode.

| p[SPOT] | The camera meters lighting conditions in an area at the center of the frame equivalent to 2% of the total. Recommended with backlit subjects and in other cases in which the background is much brighter or darker than the main subject. |
| q[AVERAGE] | Exposure is set to the average for the entire frame. Provides consistent exposure across multiple shots with the same lighting, and is particularly effective for landscapes and portraits of subjects dressed in black or white. |
Select [ON] to meter the current focus frame when [SINGLE POINT] is selected for F[AF/MF SETTING] > [AF MODE] and [SPOT] is selected for C[PHOTOMETRY].

* Red-eye removal is available in these modes when Intelligent Face Detection is active and red-eye removal is on. Red-eye removal minimizes "red-eye" caused when light from the flash is reflected from the subject’s retinas.
Adjust flash brightness. Choose from values between +2 EV and –2 EV. Note that the desired results may not be achieved depending on shooting conditions and the distance to the subject.

Record high-frame-rate HD movies that play back in slow motion, giving you time to view fast-moving subjects or details too fleeting for the naked eye: a batter’s swing, darting insects, or swiftly-flowing waters.

| [OFF] | High-speed recording off. |
High-speed movies are recorded at a reduced frame size with no sound. Focus, exposure, and white balance are fixed at the values in effect at the start of recording. Movies shot under low light may be underexposed due to the high recording speeds; we recommend shooting outdoors in daylight or in other brightly-lit locations. If desired, high-speed movies can also be viewed in slow-motion on a computer.
Choose the sensitivity for movie recording from [AUTO] or from settings between ISO 400 and 6400.
This setting has no effect on photographs.
