The [STILL/MOVIE] Mode Switch
Slide the [STILL/MOVIE] mode switch to [STILL] to take photographs or to [MOVIE] to record movies.
Aperture Ring
In mode [A] or [M], rotate the aperture ring to adjust aperture (aChoosing a Shooting Mode). Rotate the aperture ring to [A] to let the camera automatically adjust aperture.
The Exposure Compensation Dial
Rotate the dial to choose an exposure compensation amount.
The Frame Advance Lever
You can create a 2-in-1 image that contains two images in one (a2-in-1 Shooting).
Using the Frame Advance Lever
Turn the [ON/OFF] switch to [ON] (A) and then pull the frame advance lever (B).
To turn the camera off, turn the [ON/OFF] switch to [OFF] (D) while pushing in the frame advance lever (C).
Do not forcefully pull or push in the frame advance lever when the [ON/OFF] switch is turned to [OFF]. Doing so may cause a malfunction.
The Flash Switch
Slide the flash switch to N to fire the flash during still photography. The video light turns on during movie recording.
The Serial Number Plate
Do not remove the serial number plate, which provides the CMIIT ID, serial number, and other important information.

The Viewfinder
Use the viewfinder to frame the picture.
The Indicator Lamp
Camera status is shown by the indicator lamp.
Indicator lamp | Camera status |

Glows green | Focus locked. |
Blinks green | Focus warning. Pictures can be taken. |

Blinks orange | The shutter button is pressed without pulling the frame advance lever in film camera mode. |

Blinks red | Lens or memory error. |

Displayed only if [CONTINUOUS] is selected for B[MOVIE SETTING] > [TALLY LIGHT].
The B[MOVIE SETTING] > [TALLY LIGHT] option can be used to choose whether the indicator lamp blinks or remains steady during movie recording.
