Basic Setup

When you turn the camera on for the first time, you can choose a language and set the camera clock. Follow the steps below when turning the camera on for the first time.

  1. Turn the camera on.

    A language-selection dialog will be displayed.

  2. Choose a language.

    Rotate the selector dial to highlight a language and press the center of the selector dial.

  3. Choose a time zone.

    Rotate the selector dial to choose a time zone and press the center of the selector dial.

    Press [ON/OFF] (Screen button 6) to enable or disable daylight savings time.

  4. Set the clock.

    Press the center of the selector dial to proceed to the next step. Press the center of the selector dial on the last step or press [DONE] (Screen button 6) to display the [HOME] options on the side monitors and the shooting display on the LCD monitor.

If the supplied battery is removed for an extended period, the camera clock may be reset. In that case, the initial setting screen will be displayed, so configure the settings again.

Choosing a Different Language

To change the language:

  1. Display language options.

    Select [SET UP] > Qa.

  2. Choose a language.

    Rotate the selector dial to highlight a language.

  3. Press the center of the selector dial.

    The display will switch to the selected language.

Changing the Time and Date

To set the camera clock:

  1. Display [DATE/TIME] options.

    Select [SET UP] > [DATE/TIME].

  2. Set the clock.

    Set the display order (year, month, day), date, and time.

  3. Press the center of the selector dial on the last item or press [DONE] (Screen button 6) to set the date and time.
